The Marching Huskies 2016 show was entitled "Ignite" with pieces written by John Mackey. Pieces included are, "Lightening Field", "Night on Fire", and "Aurora Awakes" that were conducted by drum majors Johanna Nickolson and Karsyn Forehand.
This was our first run through of the whole first movement of our 2016 marching band show, "Ignite". This movement was called Sparks and contained the music "Lightning Field" written by John Mackey. Being our first run through it wasn't the best, but it did improve. Marching band may look easy but it's really not. Its not something you just learn in one day. You have to learn to memorize your music, memorize your drill for each movement (which was about 20 sets each movement), watch your drum major for queues, count, and remember your visuals. It took the longest time to get everything right but in the end, it really payed off.
This was our last full run through of our 2016 show, "Ignite". It was performed at our last competition which was in Boone, North Carolina at Appalachian State University. It was far better performed from when we started because we still weren't really sure how it was supposed to go. It was the biggest competition that we went to and was the hardest to compete in. Although we didn't place the best, it was still a great experience.
