In the Drafting 1 course, we have built many different things using two different applications called Sketch-Up and Auto CAD. Recently, we have built this ATAT from the Star Wars franchise. We had to learn a lot of different commands to make certain things, dimension them, and even make them 3-D sometimes. The drawing is made of several different parts that I had to make using different guidelines for each part. It seemed that the farther I got in building the ATAT the harder it would get. If I were to redo it, I would have asked for help at the beginning instead of at the end.
R2D2
Drafting is a great class to take if you want to go into a career that deals with architectural engineering. It's a fun course and I'm glad I've taken it. We created this R2D2 from the Star Wars franchise as well on AutoCAD. I personally enjoy AutoCAD better than Sketch-Up because it's easier to create and build. This R2D2 was easier to build than the ATAT though because it was more symmetrical and rectangular.
