Our first essay we wrote was about a memorable moment in our lives. I chose to write about when we moved from Concord, North Carolina to where we are now in Wake Forest. To me, it was an essay on something that may have changed my life. If I had re-written this, I probably would have changed the memorable moment. Although it did change my life, there have been other things I'd rather write about. I would've also changed the way I stated certain things and how much detail I did or didn't put into it.
The Expository Essay was written by a group of people who had a similar idea. Within my group, we all thought it was important to maintain gun control. We were asked to write to our President Elect about the issue and then make a podcast of it the letter. The essay was about how we support gun control and how guns should be contained in a safe matter. My group had to work together to find the pros and the cons of gun control and in the end, we found that we worked well together to get this essay and podcast done. This assignment taught us how to work with other people even if we didn't necessarily see eye-to-eye on everything.
The Argumentative Essay was written about society versus individualism and which we thought was most important. I thought that individualism was more important because its important to look after yourself before others even if you are really caring and selfless. It was a challenge for me at first whether to chose to write about either because I could come up with a good argument for either side. In the end, I wrote about individualism because I could better relate to it and could write a better essay for it. If I were to write it again, I would take my time to think it through because I had a certain idea in my head and didn't think about any other ideas than that.
